Great Grief: Mourning & Remembrance in New England

JOIN US to explore the changing experience of public and private grief in society over the past 200 years with Professor Libby Bischof (USM). Using local archives and artifacts, she will lead us in engaging discussion of the history of grief and mourning and what it means to each of one us over time. Participants will hear performances of historic letters and diaries while considering the importance of making room for grief in our community.
This program will take place on Zoom. ASL interpretation will be provided.
This lecture is a free program supported by the Maine Humanities Council’s MAINE SPEAKS program.
