The Brick Store Museum, celebrating local history, art and culture year-round, will mark the dual bicentennials of the State of Maine and the Town of Kennebunk this year.
From May through October, the Museum proudly presents its Century Saturdays Program, funded by the Maine Humanities Council.
The Century Saturdays Program returns in June to focus on the 18th Century in Maine.
While the July 18th program was supposed to be a physical event, the Museum staff has created an online program that includes:
Speaker Michael Maler of Historic New England;
An online “pop-up exhibit” exploring indigenous and settler history through our collection
At-home activities that families can undertake together, including making 18th Century foods to try and hands-on activities to explore.
The 18th Century Saturday Portal will “open” (go live!) at 12pm, on Saturday, July 18. In the meantime, you are invited to explore our 16th and 17th Century Saturdays here: The Century Saturdays Program.
This program is funded through a grant from the Maine Humanities Council and generous sponsorship from Kennebunk Savings Bank.
Admission to these programs is typically included in the cost of regular museum admission; however, online programming is free with donations gratefully accepted.
