Edith’s Grand Tour Program & Dinner
May 13 @ 6:00 pm
Edith Barry, Museum founder, was a lifelong world-traveler. One of her first trips to Europe, in 1903, inspired her love of travel, art and cultures. Travel back in time during this virtual program to explore her 1903 trip abroad to France, Italy and England. Using Barry’s diary, photographs, and artwork as our tour guide, participants will journey along with Edith and see Europe through the eyes of a 19 year-old at the turn of the 20th century.
To supplement this evening program, takeaway dinner themed to a 1903 ocean liner’s menu is offered! The Museum’s creative catering partner, For the Love of Food & Drink in Wells, has crafted a menu through research of turn of the century ocean liner dinner services. Participants will pick up their dinners at the Museum and return to their homes to watch the program.
