Patsy Bauman Gallery
The Patsy Bauman Gallery is a special feature at the Museum, showcasing contemporary Maine artists with rotating exhibitions throughout the year.

Founded in 1936 by artist Edith Barry, the Museum has long been dedicated to promoting local talent. One of its first exhibitions highlighted contemporary artists from the area, and supporting artists in Kennebunk—past, present, and future—remains at the heart of its mission. In 2018, the Museum expanded this tradition with the opening of the Patsy Bauman Gallery, made possible by the Bauman Family Foundation. Located in the Museum’s Program Center, which originally served as the New Art Center Workshop in the 1940s, the gallery continues the legacy of fostering creativity by providing a space where artists of all backgrounds can connect with the community.

Artists invited! This gallery provides space for contemporary Maine artists to share their work with the community, and is open seasonally from April through December. We invite Maine artists and Maine arts organizations to submit an information sheet to the Brick Store Museum for exhibit consideration. Each exhibit runs about 6 weeks, so there is always something new to see.
Application & Information
Please read the below directions and information before calling the Museum, as they may be answered on this site.
Artist Information
Artists from Maine and/or those who create works in Maine are invited to share their work with the Museum’s Exhibit Committee. We accept applications year-round; however, the Committee generally meets once per year (in January) to schedule Bauman Gallery exhibits for the year ahead.
Once you have applied, artists do not need to re-apply in succeeding years unless your proposal has changed. Applicants that have not been invited to exhibit in one calendar year will be included in the next round of decisions.
Gallery Guidelines
Please review the Patsy Bauman Gallery guidelines prior to applying to exhibit.
