Fall Programs Need Your Support!

Hello friends!
I hope your summer seasons have been successful. We have certainly all earned a nap (or vacation!).
The Brick Store Museum’s programs continue this Fall and we are in need of sponsors to help carry out our cultural programming.
We have varied levels of sponsorships ($100 to $500) available so I hope that you might consider partnering with us to bring these programs to life!

“Fire of 1947” Exhibition & Panel Lecture (October)
The 75th anniversary of Maine’s worst natural disaster includes an exhibition on local experiences and a panel lecture with Kennebunk Fire Rescue, Maine Forest Service, and more.
(At the 70th anniversary lecture, over 350 people attended!)

All Souls’ Walk & Fall Fair (October 29)
The Brick Store Museum’s All Souls’ Walk began its annual Hallowmas season tradition in 2004, with a guided walk through neighboring Hope Cemetery. The All Souls’ Walk invites participants into Hope Cemetery & Woods, led by a knowledgeable tour guide, to “meet” the ghosts of Kennebunk’s past and learn about the lives of residents that came before us. Stories and experiences range from funny, to sad, to passionate, to mystifying. Not too spooky, it’s the perfect Halloween activity for the whole family.

“The Great State of Maine Illustration” Exhibit (October – February)
Illustration is an art form with an ancestral home in Maine. We have a rich legacy of attracting notable illustrators to our state such as Robert McCloskey, Dahlov Ipcar, Ashley Bryan, Barbara Cooney, Winslow Homer, Rockwell Kent, and Francis Hamabe.
This legacy continues, and there are more illustrators living in our state, either year round or seasonally, than in any other time in history.
To celebrate this golden age of illustration, Illustration Institute and the Brick Store Museum are partnering on an exhibition that celebrates illustrators with deep connections to our state titled The Great State of Illustration in Maine.

Holiday Showcase Launch & Children’s Story Time with Illustrator Matt Tavares (November 26)
Meet local author and illustrator Matt Tavares, illustrator of the popular holiday book “Dasher”!
Matt will be doing a reading, drawing, question and answer session as well as a book signing.
This is a FREE event and admission to the museum will also be free this day for Downtown Tree Lighting.

Holiday Candlelight Stroll

Celebrate the diverse immigrant population of Kennebunk during this tour that visits six different immigrant families in the early 20th Century in Kennebunk.
