Nominate Community Members for Exhibit!
Help create this summer’s exhibition!
The Brick Store Museum is telling the stories of every day community members who helped to make Kennebunk what it is today. Through the lens of history, Museum staff has researched professions and jobs that existed at least 100 years ago (pre-1924) and paired them with citizens who worked in those jobs historically.
Now, we need to match modern-day people, too! We’ll be telling the stories of historic and current-day people who worked/work in the same profession, living here in Kennebunk.
Nominate someone you know who works in the jobs (or related field) listed below, to be considered as history’s modern-day equivalents!
The exhibition will open May – August 2024.
How to Nominate:
- Use the Nomination Form (found below) to submit names of those you know who work in the varied jobs listed.
- When entering NAME: First, Last, occupation and/or place of business; then contact information (email, phone, mailing address – if known)
- You do not have to submit nominees for each profession – you are welcome to skip questions
- When nominating someone, please list their contact information so that Museum staff can contact them, should they be selected.
How Nominees will be selected for the exhibition:
Because we expect to see many nominations for each category, Museum staff will select one nominated person per profession (at random, pulling names from a hat) to feature in the Summer 2024 exhibition. Any nominee should be amenable to having their portrait taken (and exhibited). No nomination guarantees that a person will be selected – however, we will inform every nominee of their nomination (as long as contact information is attached to their name).
Thank you for taking part in this exhibit about our community!
